DROP IN AND PARTICIPATE

The prevention of sexual harassment is not only about having people acquire new knowledge. Since it occurs in a social context among people who already have notions and convictions, attitudes and identities, change will not happen because some people learn some ‘facts’ from a web-based course.
The workshop facilitator has a critical role to play. In addition to sharing knowledge, he or she must model acceptance of all participants as they are, and where they are in their process. The sessions need to be kept on topic, and engaging. The facilitator also models how to discuss sensitive topics with ease, clarity, and respect for the participants and their varied opinions.
